Last week I drove down to our state capital, Aweil, which is just over 30 km south of us. It takes about an hour to drive, though, because the road isn't very good. On the way back I was on my own with no time constraints and had the luxury of stopping to take photos whenever I wanted. So here are a bunch.

| Traditional boats (hollowed-out palm trunks) in a dried river bed (it should fill up as the rainy season continues) |

Such beautiful photos! I am amazed at how high the thatched roofs can go!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Heather. Yes, some of those roofs are amazing. The highest ones are on the "barns," large huts where they keep their animals.
DeleteThank you, Jan. So good to see just a little of what you see every day.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Kathy! Thanks for your comment.
DeleteBeautiful!! Love these:)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Michelle!
DeleteI'm exploring FB a bit these days and saw this, making me very happy. The pictures are very nice. I was surprised at how green it is. Does that mean the rains are adequate this year?
ReplyDeleteHi Tricia! Thanks for your comment. Yes, the rains have been good this year, praise God! Crops are growing well, everything is indeed very green.
